Hey, Where's My Show? (and other IT problems)
You may not be able to find your TV show in the list of available shows, or it may not download an episode, for a number of reasons:
(1) There are no recent episodes of the show
EpisodeFeed is meant to keep up with shows as they come out. As such, once any particular episode is 30-60 days old, it is deleted and no longer available on this site. Use a traditional torrent site to find it.
(2) My video files don't have file extensions when I download them! What kind of scam are you running here?!
Synology (and probably other niche bittorrent clients) have a bug where they don't want to include file extensions. You can fix this by going to your Account -> Preferences -> and check the "Use legacy RSS format" checkbox. This will cause your RSS feed to use a more bland format that Synology is better able to ingest, like an old man eating fiber wafers.
(3) You have more than 500 items in your RSS feed
To keep your bittorrent client from trying to re-download old episodes you've already seen (but nevertheless get re-uploaded to torrent sites), your RSS feed keeps up with old episodes for up to 3 months. If you have a bunch of shows, you might eventually hit this limit, and no new episodes will get added to your RSS feed until the old ones drop off. You can easily see if you're at the 500 limit (as well as some tricks on how to get around it) at the top-ish of your My Feed page: https://episodefeed.com/my-feed (and see the Why?!?) link for help.
(4) You added the wrong version of the show
We do our best to keep it all straight, but when there's 10 different versions of "Love Island", all called simply "Love Island", it can get very tough. Make sure you have the correct language/nationality of the show selected. Even then, our torrent data sources might include the wrong IMDB ID and sort them into incorrect spots. Use the Contact form to let us know if that happened (like if a German episode is now in the US version).
(5) You added a bogus/one-off TV show with a similar name
This isn't your fault-- sometimes the torrents we import have very similar names to the "real" TV shows you are looking for. Ex: Stranger Things vs Stranger Things 2025. On one of the torrent sites, someone decided to be cute and add the year "2025" to the end of their uploads, and since that looks like a different show for EpisodeFeed, it gets created as its own entry. This sometimes happens too when uploaders add the country code to a show. Check to see if there are other versions of the TV show title for you to add.
(6) The show/episode isn't available from our sources
We pull data from EZTV and a couple other sources. If you add a show for which no one has uploaded any episodes (happens a lot with news programs), then there are simply no torrents to download.
(7) You are excluding the data source which the show is available on
For example, if you have your global settings set to exclude anything from TorrentGalaxy-- but that's the only data source supplying the show/episode-- then nothng will download.
(8) The show appears on My Schedule, but nothing downloads!
The schedule data is pulled from air date listings on TVMaze, and doesn't guarantee there will be torrents available. If no one supplies a torrent to one of our data sources (EZTV, TorrentGalaxy, etc) then there will be nothing to download!
(9) The show has ended
If the show is marked as "ended" on TVMaze.com, then that means it is no longer putting out new episodes and has no intention of doing so. Basically, the show has been cancelled. In this case, Episode Feed will remove it from the list of shows you can select from.
(10) The show goes by a different name
The show you're looking for might go by a different name than you expect. For example, instead of "Jimmy Fallon", the show might be named "The Late Late Show". Use Google to verify the official name of the show. Also, sometimes shows change their names when to go into production, and they are not updated in our databases. If you are aware of such happening, please use the Contact form and let us know!
(11) Your settings do not match any of the episodes available
For example, if your settings state that you only will accept h265 and 1080p, but a show only has 720p torrents, then it will not be added to your RSS feed.
(12) You dreamed it and it never actually existed
Always an option.
